jesus kisses

Hey party people! It’s been a hot minute since my last blog!!

Here’s a little something that has been on my mind the past few days. It’s a concept that a few people have talked to me about, but it really hit my when one of my peers said something.

My beautiful, sweet friend, Ashly introduced this phrase to me the other night. The moment she said “Jesus kiss” I stopped her in her tracks and commented on how creative and beautiful that phrase is. My mouth literally dropped because her saying that with the biggest smile on her face was THE BEST part of my day. Jesus has ways of making himself really known when He wants you to feel His presence, but I think my new favorite is His kisses(: It’s so simple, but every time I notice, it just makes my day.

Since then I have seen little Jesus kisses throughout my week and it makes my heart smile so big. It’s the little things like a customer tipping $3 on their $4 something drink. It’s the lyrics of Lauren Daigle’s song, “Rebel Heart.” (strongly encourage a listen if you haven’t heard it – the bridge of the song is my fave) It’s seeing the sunrise with a coffee in my hand. The Lord has all sorts of sweet ways He makes himself known that we don’t really even think about until we reflect.

While Ashly and I were having coffee the other night, she spoke so much truth to me without even knowing it. (the name of Jesus literally flows out of her) We were talking about the power of reflecting. I’m sure a lot of people think I’m a big journal-er just because I love to letter, but that is just not the case at all. The LAST thing I want to do is sit down and write. In fact, I have about seventeen journals with the first few pages filled out from all the mission trips I’ve been on. I really do understand the power and significance of journalling, but I have never been motivated enough, or had ideas of what to write. I also get bored of writing really quickly.

I realized that reflecting doesn’t necessarily mean writing things down, but for me it means meditating in the Lord’s presence and soaking up all of the love .

Through this blog and our conversation I have found a lot of peace in it all. It makes me feel like I finally have my thoughts together. Reflecting helps me to think back on all my Jesus kisses of the week. I hope this is a new type of reflection that sticks for me because I have really enjoyed looking back on all the kisses I’ve received from Him.

*IMPORTANT FUNDRAISING UPDATE*

Through the Lord’s faithfulness alone, I am 70% funded!!!!!!!!

I am aware of support coming in through my monthly supporters and other’s who have personally told me they will be supporting me, which takes my total to $16,521. That is PRETTY MUCH FULLY FUNDED!! What?!! I am speechless!! That means I have about $80 left to raise! THANK YOU JESUS! Praise be to God((:

TO ANYONE WHO HAS SUPPORTED AND ENCOURAGED ME FINANCIALLY OR THROUGH PRAYER ~ THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!! I am truly so grateful for all that I have been given. My friends, church family, mentors, and even strangers have been encouraging way beyond my expectations.

All of the doubt, fear, and discomfort that I have been feeling has been flooded out by the overflow of support. Literally in tears, I tell you that I could not do any of this without you all. The Jesus kisses have been POWERFUL this week. I am at a loss of words for how blessed and touched I am. This community I have has come through so strong and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me. My sweet Jesus has made it so clear that this is the path I’m supposed to be on, and that makes me so excited for what He has in store for me.

With so much joy, Kate(:

*There are other costs that the $16,600 does not cover such as clothing, gear, vaccinations, and travel to and from training camp & launch/return. Please let me know if you are interested in helping me pay for this! I am currently working two jobs and going to school so I would LOVE if someone could help me out here!
