hello everyone!!
This season as an alumni team leader has been very sweet, challenging, and rewarding as I learned to navigate leading something totally different than what my race looked like. I lead a team of six women in seeking the Lord, diving into ministry, and discipleship training as well as leading the worship team on our squad with one of my co-leaders. The Lord was so faithful in coming alongside me and speaking for me when I was lost in what to say. I’ve learned to walk in deep dependency and joy with our King. I’ve learned how to love His children like He does and to continue pursuing them in the midst of conflict. I’ve been able to taste and see the fruit of discipleship not only from my mentors, but now as the Lord has given me a chance to walk alongside more of His kids. The women I had the honor of leading are so different, yet come together in a way that reflects the Father’s love so beautifully!
These past four months have been nothing(!!!!) like what I expected and in the most beautiful way. I learned to walk in the authority our Heavenly Father gives, sweet (and hard) surrender, and more freedom than I thought possible. As much as I was there to help my team grow, the Lord stretched me to my limits and showed me how to continue giving Him the glory in the midst of everything. What a joy it has been to learn how to worship in all that I say and all that I do!
During my time serving with Adventures in Missions, we had the opportunity to go serve with Samaritan’s Purse! My squad went to Foley, Alabama, and helped aid in hurricane relief. On day four out of twelve, I was benched with a concussion— a huge branch fell on my head while we were moving debris. I used a lot of that time to pray into what my next season would look like; The Lord gave me so much peace and patience as I asked Him, and He asked me to continue waiting for an answer.
“You’ll find out when you get home,” Abba whispered. I automatically assumed that home meant Peoria, Illinois, and that I would be going to college and working like I did before the race.
Oh, boyyyy was I wrong! and praise the Lord for that! When we got back to the Adventures base in Georgia, the Lord kept aligning conversation and sessions to point me to a program called CGA, Center for Global Action!!!
*CGA is a discipleship and leadership training school through Adventures in Missions that equips followers of Jesus to live missionally through teachings, scripture, and activation. CGA teaches a deeper relationship with the Father which allows you to know and lead yourself well so that you can then take that knowledge, learn, and lead others well.
The Lord pointed out my dreams of opening a coffee shop to help disciple women and asked me to consider CGA to help me gain more leadership, discipleship, tangible ministry skills, and experience. The more I prayed into this, the more confirmation and affirmation I received! As someone who feels called to long-term ministry, I believe this will help equip me in setting the groundwork for running a ministry.
So!!!!
drumroll please!!!!!
Come January 22, I will be once again moving to Gainesville, Georgia for the semester and living in a community house attending CGA!!! I’ll be taking discipleship classes in the mornings and I will get a part-time job in order to learn how to walk out “life is ministry, ministry is life”. I am SO excited and ready for this next season of life!! I’m also so abundantly thankful that the Lord is continuing to lead me in living with community as well as deep one on one discipleship. THANKS GOD!!
I’ve realized that there’s typically a lot of fear that I hold as each season comes to a close and I’m waiting for what’s next. I’m also learning as each season comes to a close that the Lord just wants to hold my hand through it all. He so gently continues to push me out of my comfort zone and remind me that I’m fearfully and wonderfully made. I’m held in the palm of His hands and you are too!
Jesus, thank you for blessing us so tenderly!!!!!
I wanted to take some time to update you not only on my future plans but also on what the Lord did in and through me over this past semester. As always, my expectations were completely blown away. Thank you for investing in me, supporting me prayerfully and financially, and for your excitement as I desire to follow the path the Lord has drawn out for me! I deeply appreciate every one of you<3
With all of this exciting news, I would love to invite you into supporting my next season with the Lord!
pray!! This next season is going to be full of intense and immeasurable growth for me. I would love it if you would join me in praying for an open and soft heart, understanding, more space and capacity for the Lord, and deep reliance on the Father as well as provision for getting a job.
donate!! I am in need of $2,000 by January 15th and in total $5,950. I would love if you would ask the Lord about supporting me as I walk into this next season.
Make my journey your journey & follow along!! I would love if you would subscribe and share my blog(:
Thank you once again and hallelujah(!!) that the Lord has called me on this crazy path of doing life with Him. I’m glad you and I get to be part of it together!

High five, Kate! Love from all of us in CZ.
Kate, we are so proud of you for continuing to walk the path God leads you to! CGA sounds like the perfect next step for you! We love you so much! Mom
The Lord will provide what we need. I tend to think of physical needs but it applies also to spiritual and emotional needs. When you worry about what’s going to happen next, the worry is wasted because the Lord will provide the answer. I never worried about what’s next until the Lord pointed me in a direction I didn’t care for. But he whispered and shouted until I said “OK, Lord — you are probably right.” That has led me to wonderful, life-changing experiences. I’m delighted to follow your journey in this thing called Life — and all of the various paths it has taken you down. Don’t wander too far off the path. And watch out for those falling branches!
All I can say is WOW! You just continue to amaze in your belief and dedication to the Lord. You will do great things in this next journey.
Thanks for sharing about how things went! We are so excited for your next step to CGA. It is wonderful to hear how God is leading you! Continue to follow him and his leading!
